have been looking into the Longines Legend Diver a bit lately. I initially saw the watch on the Longines web site and liked it a lot. I then started looking out for a bit more information about it.In the 50s deep sea divers were using bathyscaphes to go very deep into the sea. Longines supplied instruments for one of these vessels, the Trieste, which set the world depth dive record in 1953,longines guide carrying two to the depth of 3,150 meters.

In 1960 Longines developed its dive watch using its Automatic 290 caliber, with 24 jewels, and a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.Recently Longines has reissued it as longines guide a tribute of this watch, calling it the Longines Legend Diver.
